Description
Ambaston Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, with additions from the mid-19th century and alterations from the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a 20th-century concrete tile roof, brick external gable stacks, and a sawtooth eaves band. The building has two storeys plus garrets and consists of three bays, along with a long rear range.
At the center, there is a mid-19th century gabled brick porch adorned with bargeboards, which covers the original plain doorcase that includes a panelled door and a divided overlight, glazed with 18th-century bull's eye glass. On either side of the porch are three-light casement windows with cambered heads, and above them are three similar windows, with the central one originally being slightly narrower. Additionally, there is a 20th-century roof light in the roof. Inside, the farmhouse features a stick baluster staircase with a plain newel and scrolled cheekpieces.
