Description

Noverton Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a plain tiled roof with parapets and stacks at the gable ends. The building is two storeys high, with an attic and cellar, and has a dentilled eaves cornice.

The facade consists of three bays, with a small gable above the central bay. The outer bays on the ground floor have 19th-century hipped-roofed canted bay windows that contain four-pane sashes. On the first floor, there are three cross-casements with cambered heads, and a twelve-pane sash window with a moulded architrave in the central gable. The central entrance features a 19th-century hipped-roofed porch supported by timber posts, leading to a half-glazed door that has a moulded architrave and a transom light with two glazing bars.

Inside, the farmhouse retains its original oak dog-leg staircase, which has turned balusters and a moulded handrail. To the left side of the main house, there is a single-storey wing added in the 19th century, which projects out and has a bay window similar to those on the ground floor of the main part of the house. The interior of this wing is fully panelled.
