Description

The walled garden immediately north of The Shrubbery is a structure from the mid-18th century, with repairs made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. It is built of brick and stands about 10 feet high, forming three sides, with the south side bordered by The Shrubbery. The garden encloses an area of approximately 350 square yards. The south ends of the walls feature square piers topped with moulded stone capping. There are doors with cambered heads located at each end of the north wall and in the west wall. This garden was formerly the kitchen garden for Stanford Court and is included for its group value.
