6/190 Granary and attached garden walls situated south-east of The Shrubbery
GV II
Granary and attached garden walls. Mid-C18. Brick with plain tiled roof and parapets at gable ends. Rectangular three-bay plan aligned north-west/ south-east. Two levels. Blocked ventilation slits to both levels. South- west elevation has a 3-light and a 2-light window at ground floor level. North-east elevation has C20 double doors and two loft doors. North-west gable end has a door and attic light above with diaper ventilation patterns in gable apex. Lean-to addition at south-east gable end with double doors to north-east elevation. Three garden walls adjoin the granary. The longest runs south-east for about 55 yards and returns to the south-west for about 10 yards; it is about 10 feet high, has square piers with moulded stone cap- ping at each end and at the corner, and it encloses the garden east of the main south elevation of The Shrubbery (qv). The shortest wall runs north- west for about 12 yards and is about 7 feet high. The third wall runs west of the granary for about 25 yards and adjoins the south-east corner of The Shrubbery; it is about 12 feet high and includes a doorway with a cambered head.
