Description
Bungay Lake Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries. It is constructed of handmade brick and features two-span plain tiled roofs, along with a large brick stack located in the valley. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, all topped with a dentilled eaves cornice.
The farmhouse consists of three bays, with all windows being 3-light casements from the 20th century that have cambered heads. The central window on the first floor is narrower than the others. The central entrance is adorned with a flat canopy and pilasters that feature fret detail. It includes a 6-panelled door, with two raised and fielded panels and two glazed panels, along with a transom light that has decorative glazing bars. The attic lights have been blocked.
Inside, there are back-to-back fireplaces, with a large fireplace still present in the rear range. The central bay features an open well staircase that has turned balusters and a moulded handrail. Additionally, there is a 19th-century kitchen wing at the rear left of the farmhouse.
