Description
Woodcote Lodge is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the 17th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The building features a timber frame with painted brick infill, along with brick replacement walling and additions, topped by a plain tiled roof. It consists of two framed bays that are aligned east to west, with a large central chimney that has a brick ridge stack. An additional bay at the east end continues the roofline. The structure is single storey with an attic that includes dormers.
The north front elevation has a ground floor that features a 2-light and two 3-light 19th-century casement windows with metal bars and ornate catches. There are also three gabled dormers that contain 2-light 20th-century leaded casements. The main entrance, located to the left of the central bay, has a gabled canopy and a 20th-century door. Inside, the main ceiling beams are stop-chamfered, and there are back-to-back fireplaces, although only one retains its original size. A dog-leg staircase with slender spiral balusters adds to the interior features. Additionally, there is a 20th-century hipped-roofed addition at the east end.
