Description
No. 138 and No. 140 on Main Street is a 17th-century house that has been divided into two separate residences. The building features a timber frame with brick infill and a plain tile roof, complemented by a brick ridge stack and an off-ridge stack. It has a baffle-entry plan, oriented east-west and facing north. The house is one storey with an attic, showcasing three square panels at the eaves supported by straight braces. The windows exhibit irregular placement, with five casements on the ground floor, one at mezzanine level to the left, and two gabled dormers. There is also a blocked door with a triangular head to the left. The right-hand gable reveals an exposed roof truss with queen struts, a pair of purlins, and a ridge piece. The interior has not been inspected.
