Description

Alley Thatch is a cottage dating to the 17th century. It is located on the south side of Main Street, in Alrewas. The cottage is timber framed with a thatched roof and has brick end stacks. The building is constructed with an end lobby-entry plan, featuring 2 framed bays oriented north-south, facing east. It is one storey high with an attic, with three square panels visible beneath the eaves. The front elevation includes a central casement window with shutters, and an eyebrow dormer to the right. A door is located to the right of the window. Inside, a large open fireplace is present, with a chamfered spine beam featuring run-out stops to the north end of the north bay.
