Description
Church Farm Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, and possibly earlier. It is constructed of local stone that is roughly squared and coursed, topped with a thatched roof and featuring brick stacks at both ends and in the center. The cottage is single-storey with an attic, comprising three bays and a one-bay extension on the south side. The entrance door, which is almost central, is part glazed and located between the second and third bays. It is framed in heavy squared timber with an exposed lintel above. The ground floor has three-light casement windows with voussoired segmental heads, while the windows above are set into the thatch. There is an apparently blocked former doorway in the extension. The cottage is said to have a stud and panel screen, an early smoke bay fireplace, and chamfered beams, among other features.
