Description

This building is a stable that has been converted into a loose box and store, located at the south-west corner of the farmyard at Manor Farm. It likely dates from the early 18th century and was altered and extended in the 19th century. The structure is made of yellowish brick laid in English bond and features a Staffordshire blue tile roof. It has two storeys and three bays, with a later lean-to addition at the rear.

The east side, which faces the farmyard, has a broad doorway with a segmental arch to the right of two segmentally-arched casement windows. These windows are in the positions of former mullioned windows, of which fragments of the lintels and sills still remain. There is also a wooden-framed taking-in door located at the centre of the first floor. On the left return, there is a segmentally-arched doorway to the right, and an altered window in the gable that shows remains of an ashlar surround, along with a kneeler to the eaves on the left side.

Inside, the building features transverse oak beams with stop-chamfered edges and oak common joists. There are internal steps leading to the first floor. Each gable has principal-rafter trusses that include collars, vertical struts, and diagonal struts. The internal trusses have curved principal rafters with collars supported by brace posts, along with vertical and diagonal struts above. Each slope has two purlins and straight wind-braces. This building is included for its group value.
