Description

2 The Square is a house dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features painted roughcast render and a plain-tile roof. The house has a 19th-century integral brick eaves stack on the right and a large central brick stack with four diagonal upper shafts. The rectangular plan has a gable end facing the street.

The exterior consists of two storeys and an attic, with an irregular two-window arrangement of 6/6 sash windows on the street front, and a 3/3 sash window at the attic level. There is a moulded wood doorcase with a fanlight that has radial glazing bars, and a five-panelled moulded door. To the left, there is a projecting flat-roofed multi-pane canted bay window and a round arched doorway. The interior has not been inspected.
