Description

Brook Cottage is a house dated 1733, located on Burway Road in Church Stretton. The building features unpainted roughcast render and stone rubble, with a dentil course of ashlar eaves and a plain-tile roof. It has a single integral 19th-century brick stack on the left gable and a rectangular plan that runs parallel to the street.

The exterior is two storeys high, with the south front displaying a three-window range of 2-light mullioned and transomed casements that have leaded glazing. The central window features an ashlar keystone dated 1733. On the ground floor, there are three 20th-century canted bay windows with tiled roofs, along with a boarded partly glazed door that leads to a 20th-century enclosed porch. A fire insurance mark is also present. The left-hand gable end is rendered, while the right-hand gable end is made of rubble stone. At the rear, there are two-storey brick and rendered extension wings. The interior has not been inspected.
