Description

This milepost, located approximately 50 metres north of number 39, Venusbank, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is made of painted cast iron and features raised lettering and edges. The milepost has a triangular section with a chamfered top. The top is lettered with "WENLOCK/ 6½", to the left it reads "SALOP/6/TO THE COUNTRY", and to the right it states "B.NORTH/14½/TO THE TOWN". Number 39, Venusbank is not included in this listing.
