Description
This is a milepost located approximately 40 metres to the northeast of Alderton Cottage. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is made of painted cast iron. The milepost has a triangular section with a chamfered top and beaded corners. On the left-hand side, it features raised lettering that reads "SALOP/7/MILES," and on the right-hand side, it reads "WEM/3/MILES." At the rear, it is supported by a grey sandstone block. Alderton Cottage itself is not included in this listing.
