Description

This is a milepost located approximately 85 metres to the west of Bridleway Gate, dating from the mid-19th century. It is made of painted cast iron and has a triangular section with a chamfered top. The milepost features self lettering, with "SALOP/ 9/MILES" on the left-hand side and "WHITCHURCH/10½/MILES" on the right-hand side. It is part of a series of mileposts in the area. Bridleway Gate itself is not included in this listing.
