Description

Lee Bridge is a bridge built in 1800, constructed from red sandstone ashlar. It features a single segmental arch with a facing ring made of chamfered-rusticated voussoirs that continue on the soffit, and a raised keystone. The bridge has flanking pilaster buttresses and a string course to the parapet, which is raised at the center. The wing walls curve out to octagonal end piers that have pyramidal caps. Originally, this bridge carried the Shrewsbury-Whitchurch turnpike across the River Roden, but it has since been bypassed.
