Description
Moston Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid to late 17th century, with early 20th-century alterations. It is constructed with a timber frame and plaster infill, topped by a 20th-century asbestos slate roof. The framing features irregular small square panels, with three panels extending from the sole plate to the wall plate, and widely spaced uprights. The cottage has a two-cell baffle-entry plan and is one storey high with an attic.
There are two gabled eaves dormers that contain 20th-century leaded wooden casements with two lights each. A central brick ridge stack is present, and the front has two windows, also featuring 20th-century leaded wooden casements. The central entrance door is boarded and is accompanied by a 20th-century porch. Inside, exposed collar and tie-beam trusses can be seen in the gable ends, which include queen struts and V-struts. To the left, there is a rendered one-storey lean-to addition that is set back. The interior has not been inspected.
