Description

Thistleford Bridge is a bridge built in 1796, with the parapet slightly raised in 1844. It is constructed from regularly coursed and dressed red sandstone. The bridge features a single segmental arch with a keystone, along with a flat string course and parapet. In 1844, Edward Haycock, the County Surveyor, proposed raising the parapets by a couple of feet, and payment for this work was made in December of that year. The bridge spans the River Roden.
