Description

Mill Cottage is a cottage, likely dating from the early to mid-17th century, with a mid-20th century addition and alterations. The construction is timber frame with rendered walls and masonry, and it has a plain tile roof. The cottage originally comprised two framed bays, with a further bay added later. There is a central gabled eaves dormer to the front with a two-light diamond-leaded casement window, and a similar gabled eaves dormer at the rear, both timber framed and with 20th-century diamond-leaded casements. A brick ridge stack is positioned off-centre to the left and a 20th-century external brick end stack is located to the left. The front of the cottage has three windows; these are 20th-century two- and three-light diamond-leaded casements, and a 20th-century hipped canted bay to the right, also with diamond-leaded casements. A boarded door is set between the first and second windows from the left, and it is sheltered by a hipped timber porch. The interior retains chamfered beams and joists.
