Description
Hare Green Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid 17th century, with a late 19th century refacing on the south-west side and a mid 20th century addition to the north-east. The cottage has a timber frame that is exposed on the north-west side, with brick nogging, while the south-west front features a later facing of grey brick with red brick dressings. It has a toothed brick eaves cornice beneath an old tile roof that has a catslide. There are two hipped dormers with 3-light leaded casements and a 20th century stack on the north-east side, as well as an off-centre ridge stack on the south-east. The south-west side has four gabled eaves dormers, each with 3-light leaded casements. The cottage consists of three framed bays with later additions and is 1½ storeys high. The south-west front includes two 5-light leaded casements and two boarded doors with segmental relieving arches located to the left and between the first and second windows from the left. There are two doors at the rear, one in the catslide and one in the mid 20th century addition. Inside, there is a chamfered and stopped ground floor beam and joists.
