Description
Manor Farm Cottages are two cottages dated 1913, with the initials J.A.M. on the central stack. They are likely designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. The cottages are built of grey brick with red dressings, chainage, and gauged window heads. They feature a hipped old tile roof with deep eaves and catslides over the lower wings that are set back to the left and right, along with large square end stacks and a central ridge stack that rises to the same height. The structure has a stepped U-plan with wings projecting to the rear.
The cottages are two storeys high, with one storey set back in the flanking wings. The first floor includes four 2-light casements, with blank windows positioned above the doors between the first and second, and third and fourth windows. The ground floor features four glazing bar sashes with exposed wooden boxes, and there are two half-glazed doors with flat hoods on shaped brackets between the first and second, and third and fourth windows. Each set back flanking wing contains one circa 1920 glazing bar sash.
