The following building shall be added to the list: SU 57 NE BASILDON UPPER BASILDON 1/18 Pigstye range with yard walls and attached shelter GV shed at Hookend Farm

Pigstye range and attached shelter shed. Mid-late C19. Brick in Flemish bond, the shelter shed and front of pigstye range timber framed with weatherboard cladding on brick plinth; plain tile roofs. One storey, 5-bay pigstye range with brick yards to front and attached 4-bay shelter shed to rear right. Pigstye range, east elevation; stable doors and feeding-trough chutes to front yard walls of the 4 right-hand bays; left bay has board door into front yard. Yard walls have founded brick coping. There is a door to each gable in chamfered brick surround leading to rear passage; and the eaves are lower at front. Narrow rear door. Shelter shed is open-fronted with jowelled posts; braced collared tie-beam roof trusses; and right gable half-hipped and with small-pane window. The shelter shed originally had weatherboarded front wall; it is included for group value.
