Description
The Combined Pigsties and Hen House at New Sontley Farm is a 19th-century structure built of red brick with a slate roof and moulded stone capping on the pigsty yard wall. It features a monopitch shed, with the southern end having two small openings at ground level for poultry and a door on the left side. The main part of the building consists of four pigsties, each with paired doors in the yard walls. Each sty is equipped with an external bowl mounted on a brick plinth, which connects to an internal ceramic chute and feeding trough. The bowls are ceramic, except for the one at the southern end, which is made of stone. The shed has simple paired entrances under cambered arches. The yard dividing walls have suffered some damage.
