Description

These are a set of six pigsties, with the northernmost sty slightly larger than the others. They are constructed from local sandstone rubble masonry, with some yellow brick used at the eaves. The roofs are slate-covered. A feeding chute survives as part of the structure. The taller sheds, with their gable ends facing forward, mark the end of the row at each side. In front of the pigsties is a pitched-stone apron, edged by an open drain, and a circular well, approximately 3 metres in diameter, which is now filled. The group value of the pigsties lies in their historical connection to local agricultural practices.
