Description
Glynhir Dovecote is an octagonal stone structure, approximately 6 meters tall, currently missing its original roof and cupola. The stonework is made up of very thin sandstone slabs, which includes a cambered arch over the entrance doorway. The eight corners of the dovecote are not distinct from the rest of the masonry. There is a small string course near the top of the wall, and the walls are about 0.7 meters thick, which includes the depth of the nesting boxes.
Inside, there are 20 rows of eight nesting boxes on each of the eight sides, except for the side with the entrance, totaling around 750 boxes. Small landing shelves are located beneath each row, and the base for the central revolving potence is still present.
