Description
The pigsties at Tidbury Green Farm are a group of structures dating from the late 19th century. They are built from red brick with blue brick detailing and feature a plain clay tile roof.
The building has a rectangular plan, consisting of a swill tank in the northern bay and three pigsties with walled pens extending southwards. It is a low single-storey structure with four bays. The northernmost bay contains the swill tank, which is accessed through a low, rectangular opening in the main elevation. The three pigsties each have a semi-circular arched opening made of bull-nosed brick, with a row of blue bricks forming the voussoirs. Each sty is accompanied by a pen at the front, constructed from red brick with rounded-brick copings. The pens feature dark brick setts for the flooring and built-in brick troughs. The southern gable end of the building includes a ventilator slit in the brickwork.
Inside, the roof is supported by paired common rafters and a ridge plank.
