Description

This building is a barn with attached stables and a cart shed, located immediately north-northwest of Little Cleobury Farmhouse. It dates from the 17th century or early 18th century, with 19th-century additions. The structure is timber-framed, featuring a red brick plinth and brick nogging, and has a clay plain tile roof with gabled ends.

The barn has a five-bay layout with a central threshing bay. In the 19th century, a brick stable with a hayloft was added at the south end, along with single-storey stables on the southwest side, a three-bay cart shed at the north end, and outshuts on the east and west sides. A loft floor has been inserted into the barn.

The exterior showcases small framing with long tension-braces at the north end. There are wide opposing cart entrances on the east and west sides, with the west entrance being full height and featuring new plank doors. The main roof extends over the outshut on the right.

Inside, the barn has tie-beam trusses with queen-struts and trenched side-purlins, with the principals crossed at the apex supporting a diagonally-set ridgepiece. The common rafters are intact. Flanking the threshing bay are open frames that include long curved braces rising from the sole-plates to the wall-posts and a central post to the tie-beams. Little Cleobury Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
