Description

Walnut Tree Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with 20th-century additions to the north and east. The cottage is timber framed with brick nogging, set on a brick plinth. It features angle braces in the end wall and later brick additions. The thatched roof incorporates a 20th-century half-hipped cross wing projecting to the right, with an end stack to the left and a ridge stack off-centre to the right. Two eyebrow dormers with 2-light leaded casements are located on the south side. The cottage has two framed bays to the west. The south front has a first-floor 3-light casement in the cross wing to the right, with a matching 3-light ground floor window below. To the left are two 6-light mullioned and transomed leaded windows, flanking a 20th-century boarded door with a 19th-century gabled timber porch.
