Description
Church Lane Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with later alterations and an addition. It features a rendered timber frame and a plain tile roof, consisting of two framed bays. The building is one storey with an attic and has two gabled dormers that contain two-light wooden casements. To the right, there is an external stack made of red and grey sandstone and red brick. The front has two windows with 19th-century two-light wooden casements, and there is a boarded door located off-centre to the right, which is sheltered by a gabled wooden porch. To the left, there is a 20th-century painted brick one-storey addition that is set back and has a small casement window at the front. Inside, the cottage features collar and tie-beam trusses with V-struts, 19th-century rafters, a chamfered and stopped beam, a large open fireplace with a chamfered and stopped lintel, and a 19th-century staircase.
