Description
This is a barn located approximately 15 meters northeast of Oaker, likely built in the late 17th century. The eaves were raised in the late 18th or 19th century, and there is a 19th-century addition. The barn features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a rubblestone plinth, topped with a slate roof. There are doorways to the left and right of the center, along with two eaves hatches. Inside, the framing is visible, consisting of vertical posts with a wide rectangular panel for the raised eaves. The bay divisions include weatherboarded partitions or long straight tension braces. The roof has a single-purlin design with four bays and raking struts connecting the tie beams to the curved principal rafters. The 19th-century single-bay addition to the north is not considered to have special architectural interest. This barn is included for its group value.
