Description
This barn, located about 10 metres north of Overbridge Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, standing on a stone plinth, with a plain tile roof. The structure features three timber-framed bays and a rear aisle, topped with a hipped roof. There are low central double doors, three single doors, and a hatch, along with lean-tos on the gable ends. Inside, the barn has cut jowls on the principal posts, truncated threshing-floor braces, and lath-and-daub infilling that survives above the midrail in one area. The roof is constructed with clasped purlins and common rafters. This barn is included for its group value.
