Description
This is a barn located approximately 40 meters west of Lower House Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century with some minor later alterations. The barn features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and clad in corrugated iron, topped with a corrugated iron roof. There is a doorway to the right of a 20th-century corrugated-iron clad extension at the front, and another doorway is situated at the far left. Inside, the framing is visible, consisting of square panels with two extending from the cill to the wall-plate. The roof is a staggered double-purlin design spanning five bays, with collar and tie beam end trusses and queen-struts on the first truss from the left. The other trusses have raking struts connecting the tie beams to the principal rafters. Short straight braces connect some jowled wall posts to the tie beams. Lower House Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
