Description
Wayside is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the late 19th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick nogging and a plain tile roof. The framing consists of square panels, with two extending from the sole plate to the wall plate. The cottage has an end lobby-entry plan with one framed bay, and it is one storey high with an attic.
There is a central timber-framed gabled eaves dormer that contains a 19th-century two-light wooden casement. The front has two windows, both 19th-century two-light wooden casements. To the right, there is a 20th-century glazed door beneath a 19th-century bracketed gabled timber porch. The gable ends display collar and tie-beam trusses with queen struts and V-struts. A lean-to addition is located to the right, featuring a 20th-century casement window at the front. The interior has not been inspected.
