Description
Rosemary Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is timber-framed with red brick infill and has a straw thatch roof. The building is one storey and has an attic, appearing to consist of two framed bays. The framing features square panels, with three panels extending from the cill to the wall-plate, and a short straight tension brace on the left gable end.
On the front, there are late 19th century casement windows to the left and right of a plank door, which is situated under a gabled timber porch that was under construction during the resurvey in January 1987. There is a central straight eyebrow eaves dormer that contains two late 19th century casements. The cottage has a truncated internal end stack on the right and an external end stack on the left. Additionally, there is a late 18th or 19th century painted brick lean-to at the rear on the left, which also has a thatch roof.
