Description
Chalk Hill Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring painted brick infill and a plinth, while the rear is roughcast. The cottage has a slate roof with integral red brick end stacks and is one storey high with an attic, appearing to consist of three framed bays. The framing includes square and rectangular panels, with three panels extending from the cill to the wall-plate, and painted brick gable ends. There are late 19th century top-hung casement windows in the framing, with one window to the left and two to the right of a boarded door that is located under a gabled hood to the left of the centre. Above the entrance, there is a wide 20th century flat-roofed eaves dormer. Additionally, there are 19th century single-storey brick lean-tos on the gable ends. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
