Description
Loppington Hall is a house built in the early 18th century, with later additions and alterations primarily from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped plain tile roof that is partly concealed by a coped parapet that ramps up at the corners. The building has three storeys and is adorned with a stepped cornice and corner pilasters. The front has five windows, which are fitted with glazing bar sashes that have original thick glazing bars and gauged heads. The top storey has reduced proportions and horizontal sliding sashes.
The central entrance is framed by a fluted pilastered doorcase topped with dentilled capitals and dosserets that support an open segmental pediment. The entrance features panelled reveals and an eight-panel door with a semi-circular seven-barred fanlight that is flush with the front surface of the doorcase. There are integral end stacks, and mid-19th century gabled additions can be found at the rear. The interior could not be inspected during the last survey in January 1986, but it is likely to be of interest.
