Description

Laburnum Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid- to late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is timber framed with red brick infill and has a machine tile roof. The building has one storey and an attic, featuring square panels in the framing, with three panels from the cill to the wall-plate and short straight tension braces. There are V-struts from the collars. On either side of the central four-panel door, which is sheltered by a rustic porch, are two mid-19th century Gothic casements. The cottage also has mid-20th century gabled eaves dormers on both sides. Internally, there is a brick end stack to the left behind the ridge and an external end stack to the right. The cottage is shown on the Ordnance Survey map as Laurel Cottage.
