It is constructed from red and grey sandstone ashlar and features three round arches with archivolts and raised triple keystones. The bridge has breakwaters with concave tops, planking pilaster buttresses, a string course, and a parapet, along with angled wing walls. The southern parapet is inscribed with "SALOP C.C./SHAWBURY BRIDGE/ WIDENED 1936". This bridge carries the Shrewsbury-Market Drayton road over the River Roden.
