Description
The Old Vicarage is a late 18th-century vicarage, remodelled and extended in the early 19th century and now used as a house. It is constructed of rendered brick with a two-span slate roof. The building is three storeys high, with a plinth and parapeted gable ends featuring moulded kneelers and copings. Integral brick stacks are located at the ends of the building. The front elevation has three bays and contains glazing bar sash windows with plain architraves. The central door is composed of six flush panels, with the top two panels glazed, and is protected by a Doric porch, originally consisting of unfluted columns in antis, but later replaced with a porch featuring coupled fluted Doric columns and an entablature. A one-storey early 19th-century addition projects at a right angle to the left, featuring a plinth, frieze, moulded cornice, blocking course, and an integral lateral stack at the rear. The return front has two bays. A parallel rear range extends to the back of the house, consisting of two storeys and an attic. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
