Description

Nos. 133 and 134 Frankwell are a pair of houses, now functioning as shops, dating from the late 16th century. They are timber-framed with a plain tiled roof and some brick infill. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic, featuring a single-window range that includes central doors and flanking windows. The timber framing displays close studding with ogee braces beneath the windows, and herringbone bracing above. The ground floor on the left side has had its timber framing replaced with brick. The first floor features a continuous band of leaded mullioned windows, with the lower three lights being of lesser height. There are two gabled attics that showcase herringbone framing, along with barge-boards that have finials. A stack is located at the rear end wall.
