Description
The Anchor Public House is a public house located in Shrewsbury, dating from the late 18th century, although it has an earlier core. The building is constructed of brick, featuring some timber-framing, and is topped with a Welsh slate roof. It stands four storeys high and has a three-window range. The central doorway is flanked by wide segmentally-arched windows that have late 20th-century glazing. The upper windows are 12-pane sashes with flat-arched heads. There is a moulded wood eaves cornice and a gable end stack. At the rear, there is a wing that is partially timber-framed, with timbers of slight scantling.
