Description
No. 2A in the Council House Courtyard is a house dating from the 16th century, with modifications made in the early 18th century. The building features a timber frame that has been refronted in brick and partly rendered, topped with a Welsh slate roof. It stands two stories high and has a three-window range. On the east elevation, there is a tall 18-pane sash window positioned at an intermediate height to the left, along with two 9-pane sash windows on each floor, all featuring deep cambered brick heads. The house has a moulded wood eaves cornice and a coped gable. The rear elevation is rendered, possibly covering timber framing, and there are corner and rear axial stacks.
