Description

No. 85 St Margaret's Street is a house that dates from the 18th century, or possibly earlier, with a 19th-century wing at the rear. The building is made of rendered brick and features Welsh slate roofs, with a gable end at the front and a hipped roof at the back. It likely has a three-unit baffle-entry plan in the front range, with one ridge and a stack on the left-hand end. The house is two storeys high and has a front that includes a three-window range. On the first floor, there are 16-pane sash windows in exposed frames, with lintels at eaves level. The ground floor has two 12-pane sash windows, one of which is missing some glazing bars, situated under segmental and flat window arches. The entrance features a prominent door surround with a cornice, a panelled door, and a rectangular overlight above.
