Description
No. 5 Station Road is a house dating from the late 17th century, with 19th century and later alterations. It is timber-framed with brick infilling and some partial rebuilding, while the front is roughcast. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and features a large central ridge stack. The house has a two-unit plan that was formerly a baffle entry with a stair to the rear.
The front facade has a two-window range with three-light casements throughout, all featuring segment heads. There is a door on the extreme left that is panelled and partially glazed, set under a canopy supported by shaped brackets. The framing is visible on the left return and rear, showcasing large panels with straight braces and some herringbone nogging on the end wall. The rear includes a small 19th century lean-to, Yorkshire sashes on the ground floor, two small windows above, and a tiny skylight. Inside, there is a queen-post roof with V-struts above the collar.
