Description

This house, now used as offices, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick with a stuccoed basement, and the roof is hidden behind a parapet. The building has three main floors, an attic, and a basement, with a three-window front. Steps lead to a central entrance, set within a panelled architrave topped by a shallow pediment and a small leaded window above. Flanking the central entrance are two canted bay windows extending down to the basement level. The upper-floor windows are Venetian windows, set within recessed arches and decorated with fan plasterwork in the upper sections. A string course runs along the front, below a moulded stone cornice and a vestigial attic storey. There are three six-pane sash windows on the upper floors (the central window is blank), along with a doorway to No. 26 in a narrow bay to the right, featuring a lean-to porch with a pedimented hood supported by console brackets. The building has gable and axial chimneys. Original cast-iron railings are present in the basement area.
