Description
The Centre House, formerly known as the Council House, is a house that was once a wing of the Old Council House and is now a separate dwelling. It was built around 1840 and is constructed of brick with a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and features a two-window range facing southeast. There is an inserted doorway to the left in a recessed bay, accompanied by a two-light mullioned window with a hoodmould alongside it. The upper window is similar. To the right, there is a slightly advanced gable that contains paired two-light leaded casements with hoodmoulds, along with a two-light casement above. The house has an axial stack and a small dormer in the roof. The rear elevation facing the courtyard includes paired two-light mullioned windows with hoodmoulds on each floor.
