4/146 Dovecote approximately - 30m north-east-of Newnham Hall Farmhouse

GV II

Dovecote. Early C18. Red brick, plain tile roof with raised verges and corbelled eaves. Square plan. 2 levels with upper level approached by tallet steps against south gable end; doors at first floor level on south and on ground to west side, both with cambered heads. Interior: disfigured fireplace on ground floor and square nesting boxes to loft; ground-floor ceiling beams are said to have come from the C17 house on the site of the present Newnham Hall Farmhouse (q.v.).
