Dovecote Approximately 30 Metres North East Of Newnham Hall Farmhouse

This is a dovecote located approximately 30 meters north-east of Newnham Hall Farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof with raised verges and corbelled eaves. The dovecote has a square plan and two levels, with the upper level accessed by tallet steps on the south gable end. There are doors at first floor level on the south side and at ground level on the west side, both of which have cambered heads. Inside, there is a disfigured fireplace on the ground floor and square nesting boxes in the loft. The ground-floor ceiling beams are reported to have come from the 17th century house that previously stood on the site of the current Newnham Hall Farmhouse.
