Description
Polmere Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse that has undergone later additions and alterations. It is constructed of reddish brown brick and features a slate roof with raised verges and end stacks. The building is two storeys high with a gable-lit attic and has a three-window front. The first floor has six-paned sash windows with gauged heads. To the left and right of the central entrance are tripartite French windows set in slightly recessed segmental arches. The entrance features a mid-20th century half-glazed door within a pedimented doorcase that has a semi-circular fanlight above it. At the rear, there is a single-storey kitchen range that is positioned at right angles to the main structure, which includes a tall brick chimney in three stages and a dentilled eaves cornice.
