Description

Nos. 11 and 13 Church Street are a pair of shops dating from around 1800, with later additions and alterations. They are constructed of red brick and have a slate roof that is concealed by a moulded stone eaves parapet. The buildings rise to three storeys and feature a three-window front, with glazing bar sashes that have gauged heads; the first floor has 16-paned windows, while the centre windows on the first and second floors are blind and painted to imitate real windows. The shop fronts were updated in the late 20th century. To the right, there is a round-arched passageway. Inside, the ground-floor room of No. 11 (on the left) boasts a fine, apparently 19th-century decorated plaster ceiling.
