Description

No. 34, Church Street is a house dating from the 18th century, with significant alterations and remodelling in the early 19th century, and later additions. The building is constructed of red brick with a graded slate roof, hipped on the left side. A substantial axial ridge stack sits to the left, and an internal end stack is present to the right. The front of the house has three storeys and three windows. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with 16 panes on the ground and first floors, each with a gauged head and 20th-century louvred shutters. A central, flat-roofed stuccoed porch, topped with a balustrade, provides access to a six-panel door, which is approached by a flight of three steps. Rounded piers are attached to either side of the porch. A lower 18th-century range extends at right angles to the rear on the left side.
